Stamford Citizen of the Year

For over 75 years, the City of Stamford has recognized a Stamford resident for his or her service to the community. Since its founding in 1945, The City of Stamford Citizen of the Year program has been sponsored on behalf of the City of Stamford by The Fred Robbins Post 142, Jewish War Veterans of The United States (JWV). This proud tradition continues and our original mission has been greatly to include honoring veterans and the awarding of over $100,000 in scholarships to graduating Stamford high school seniors.
